Mr. Betze, our new Interim Superintendent, came in to read the book “Creepy Crayon” to Miss Lloyd’s class. The students were excited to learn that Mr. Betze is currently working on writing and illustrating (he was an Art Teacher for many years) his very own children’s book! The class discussed that even writers that are working to publish books go through the various stages of the writing process: Prewrite, Draft, Revise, Edit, Publish, just like students practice in class! It was a wonderful authentic experience. Mr. Betze even asked if he could come back to visit when his book is finished to give Miss Lloyd’s class a sneak peek and to get students’ feedback before he sends it to the publisher!
